Bee Bee
Bee Bee was found abandoned at the age of 5 weeks. His new "Mom", Mrs Stephens, brought him to us for a checkup. It was determined that Bee Bee had a viral infection that was causing blindness in both eyes. After a month of vigorous treatment, we decided that surgery to remove both eyes was the best option to decrease Bee Bee's pain and infection. Dr. Taylor performed the surgery, and Bee Bee recovered tremendously. He has adapted to his condition very well and is enjoying a relaxed, happy kitten life at home!

Tramp
Every dog has his day, or so the story goes, but the lucky ones get two! Tramp was found wandering the streets off Old Pasco Road. He was thin and ragged, but had a smile of appreciation on his face. It is hard to say how Tramp spent the first eight months of his life, but he now lives in the lap of luxury while he waits for someone to adopt him from our kennel and give him a pemanent home.

Tramp is an eight month to one year old neutered male. He is current on all his vaccines and is on heartworm prevention. Tramp is a happy-go-lucky dog who enjoys playing with kids and loves sprinting short distances. If you are interested in taking this energetic dog home, please talk to one of our staff members.

Dufus
Dufus came to see us bright and early one morning after a long night at the local emergency hospital. Dufus had a love for raw hides, and he had a piece lodged in his intestines that needed to be surgically removed. Even after such invasive surgery, this 5 year old Great Dane and Labrador mix still had a smile on his face and a wag in his tail. While monitoring Dufus in our hospital, his abdominal sutures failed and he was rushed into an emergency surgery. After many days of sedatives and rest, Dufus is now back to his happy, bouncy life.

Sir Charles Anderson
Sir Charles Anderson is a distinguished Pug of 10 years. He originally presented six months ago, having difficulty urinating. Test results showed an enlarged prostate and urinary stones in his bladder. Since Charlie had lived a long and happy life as an intact male the extra testosterone he was receiving caused the prostate to enlarge. We promptly neutered Charlie to remove the extra hormones and placed him on a special diet to dissolve the stones.

Sir Charles recovered well, and thrived until a few weeks ago, when one of the stones from his bladder blocked his urethra and Charlie could not urinate. We rushed him into emergency surgery to remove the stones. Sir Charles is currently recovering at home on his throne, enjoying the life of luxury!

Shiloh
Shiloh Waldron, a 2 year old mixed breed dog, was rushed into our Animal Hospital after suddenly collapsing at home. He was unable to stand and was experiencing seizures. Shiloh was admitted, and after a thorough work-up, was diagnosed with heartworm disease. Heartworm disease can cause blood clots that will migrate to the brain, causing stroke symptoms similar to those Shiloh was exhibiting. It took three days of intense nursing care and therapy to get Shiloh strong and walking again. Working with Shiloh was a rewarding experience for our entire staff at Cypress Creek. Shiloh is a loving dog that would wag his tail everytime we walked in the room, even when he couldn't stand. He was an excellent patient, and we are happy to report that a full recovery is expected. Shiloh is at home, receiving lots of TLC from his family, and still wagging his tail!

Destiny Cox
"Destiny" is a nine year old Dalmatian owned by Dana Cox. She has been a regular patient at our hospital since 2001. In February of this year, "Destiny" presented for lameness in her right front leg. She was placed on medication, and after no improvement on meds, we took x-rays. The radiographs revealed a mass over her right shoulder. We referred "Destiny" to Florida Veterinary Specialists for additional testing. It was confirmed that the mass was malignant. The oncologists recommended amputation of the limb, followed by chemotherapy. Dr. Jones and Dr Taylor operated on Destiny, and she stayed in our hospital several days. She quickly became a staff favorite, and bounced back from her surgery very quickly. We are happy to report that Destiny is healing well, and has started chemotherapy at FVS. She is doing great at home. All of us are happy to have shared in Destiny's recovery, and wish her the very best.
